Series contents Chapter 5 of 19
Understand your Masters and choose your next worthwhile upgrade. 13 guides and 6 practical reference sheets on Valora, Pan and Roman: a clear explanation, a next step, and the useful details close at hand.
See the series overviewIf you take part in Bear Hunt regularly, start with bonuses you can actually use. Extra hammers help your equipment progress; extra rally capacity helps only when players can fill it.
To identify the right skill: the numbers below follow the order of the four skills in the game tables, excluding Expertise. Use the icons and effects to recognize them. Descriptive English labels are not presented as unverified official button names.
What Valora provides without learning a skill
Her Hunter Instinct Expertise increases your personal damage points in Bear Hunt. The bonus runs from +2% at the first Expertise level to +30% at the last. It activates automatically once unlocked.
This concerns your hunt points, not a promise of extra damage in every battle. A higher percentage may be especially helpful when you are close to a reward threshold. If you already pass your final threshold, the score gain remains, but it does not necessarily create another milestone reward.
Valora's relationship also grants Troop Attack, up to +15% in current tables. That is separate from her Expertise.
If you join rallies: look at rewards first
Skill 3 adds Forge Hammers after the hunt. Its first level becomes available at Affinity 30. Later levels increase the bonus to 2, 3, 4 and finally 5 hammers per hunt.
A possible first target: unlock this skill, then compare its level 2. Moving from 1 → 2 costs 500 Manuscripts and adds one hammer to each eligible hunt. You also have to finish the corresponding learning period.
Moving from 4 → 5 also adds one hammer, but costs 4,000 Manuscripts. The benefit repeats, certainly; that does not mean the final level should take priority over every other plan.
Skill 2, available at Affinity 20, grants Hero Equipment XP: from 1 to 5 items worth 100 XP each per hunt. This is another regular reward, useful when equipment XP is what you currently need.
Watch the frequency: the descriptions specify rewards per hunt, not an additional bundle for every rally you join during the same event.
If you lead rallies: measure the capacity you actually use
Skill 1 increases your rally's combined capacity against the bear, up to +300,000 places. It does not increase the capacity of each march that joins.
If your rally is regularly full and players are waiting to join, this skill deserves priority. If you already have plenty of empty space, another upgrade may offer a more immediate benefit.
Illustrative example: a rally that can hold one million troops but receives only seven hundred thousand does not automatically deal more damage when its capacity grows further.
The detailed tables place Affinity 30 at level 5 of this skill, not at its first level. Its exact first-level availability still needs confirmation on Valora's initial screen; do not let one site's contradictory heading determine your whole progression plan.
What about your own march?
Skill 4, available at Affinity 40, increases your personal capacity against the bear by up to +30,000 troops. It can help both rally leaders and participants.
Check three things: is your march already at capacity, do you have suitable troops to fill the extra places, and can the rally you join accommodate them? A theoretical extra place is no substitute for a good formation or available troops.
Higher levels also require enough Skill Power. Even for a participant, some levels of skill 1 may therefore become an indirect prerequisite: “less useful directly” does not mean “never needed.”
Milestones to consider without completing everything
| Affinity | What you might consider |
|---|---|
| 20 | First equipment XP reward skill |
| 30 | Access to hammers; more group rally capacity |
| 50 | Level 3 of both reward skills, subject to prerequisites |
| 70 | Maximum hammers and group capacity become possible |
| 80 | Final levels of the other skills become available if requirements are met |
For Expertise, each milestone assumes you have completed the relationship advancement. For a skill, available does not mean learned: XP and Manuscripts are still required.
Your next choice
Regular participant: unlock the rewards you want, then compare their early levels. Leader whose rallies are full: add group capacity to your priorities. Occasional hunter: limit spending to bonuses you will genuinely use.
After reaching a milestone, compare Valora with Pan and Roman. You can continue Valora's relationship without giving her the entire learning queue.
